How to swim outdoors - an introduction to the blog!

This is my face. That blue thing behind me is the North Sea. Just before I took this picture I had spent 30 minutes swimming in that sea. In February this year (2019).

When you think of the North Sea some people think of it being cold, bleak, dark, dirty, grim up north.

When you think of sea swimming, some people think of it being, cold, boring, salty, dirty, difficult, lonely.

This blog is to help dispel some of those misconceptions. As you can see from my face, my first ever sea swim was amazing, a life changing experience, and I'd love to share some of that feeling with you. Hopefully I'd like to inspire some of you to give it a go yourself, and we can share the journey together.

I also wanted to start this blog as a reference guide for anyone who had ever thought about swimming outdoors, or who had just started and was looking for some tips. I've learned a lot over the last four months, and I'm sure there is a lot more to learn! Please feel free to post a message on here, or message me using the social media links below. It would be wonderful to get feedback, or hear from other newbies about your experiences. It's good to share!
